On February 2018, Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association (EENE) announces the completion of its first Presidency delegation visit to Berlin for a series of meetings and contacts with the majority of the Federal German Parliament and Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA).
During their visit key meetings were held with Bernd Westphal, Spokesman of the SPD Parliamentary Group on Economic Affairs and Energy, Michael Theurer, Deputy Chairman of the FDP Parliamentary Group on Economic Affairs and Labor, Dr. Peter Ramsauer, Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development (CSU), Joachim Pfeiffer, Representative of the CDU / CSU Parliamentary Group on Economic Affairs and Energy, Klaus Ernst, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Group and member of the German “The Left “party and finally, Steffen Kampeter, Chief Executive Officer of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA).
The purpose of the meetings along with the prospect of future ones both in the German and the French Parliament, is to deepen and expand the liaisons of the main partners of Greece to the European Union regarding the structure, progress and dynamics of the Greek economy from a purely business perspective and to present ideas for a faster development for the post-memorandum period.
At the same time, the board of the Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association (EENE) puts forward and analyzes the Union’s proposals for targeted reforms and initiatives that will contribute to faster growth on sustainable terms – driven by extroversion, innovation and competitiveness.
In particular, emphasis was put on the direct and drastic reduction of excessive taxation for legal persons, either by reducing the surpluses required to stimulate the real economy with tax relief for businesses, or by introducing a new 10% marginal tax on extra income generated by in 2018 onwards as well as a reduction in the social security contributions for the additional salary wage bill by the legal entities.
Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association’s (EENE) positions were thoroughly analyzed and dealt with in a spirit of understanding by the representatives of the German Parliament. EENE Association, intends to continue communicating with institutions and governmental organizations as this helps on sharing and understanding not only the Greek positions but the positions of our partners as well.
The mutual communication across a broader spectrum, beyond institutional government debates, is in the interests of all sides. It is only in this way we can contribute to a fruitful and productive European osmosis and cooperation.
