The Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association (EENE), following its participation at the Hellenic-German Economic Forum on March 9, 2020 in Berlin, completed its second round of contacts and meetings on Tuesday, March 10, hosting a business lunch to politicians and members of the German Bundestag and representatives from the main parties.
The Vice-President of the Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association (EENE), Mr. Christian Hadjiminas and the General Secretary, Mr. Armodios Yannidis, had a series of meetings with Markus Tressel (Greens), Vice-President of the German-Greek Parliamentary Group, Michael Theurer, Vice President of the German Parliament on Economic Affairs and Labor, Joachim Pfeiffer, Representative of the CDU / CSU Parliamentary Group on Economic Affairs and Energy, and Dr. Peter Ramsauer, Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development (CSU).
Having already discussed some views of EENE’s during its previous visit in Berlin, the board of the association presented its standpoints on the implementation of pro-investment and development policies, adapted to the new social, economic and political environment, drawing renewed arguments through a detailed research of successful Greek SMEs. In any case, Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association argues that these proposals should not only consider Greece but should also consider the European Union and its members. (mainly those with a high debt to GDP ratio)
In short, the positions of EENE were treated with the utmost understanding by representatives of the parties of the German Parliament (this time including a representative from the rising party of the Greens), where there was a complete identification of the need for sustainable development in order to protect our today’s greater industry – tourism. Emphasis was also given to the contribution of German technology and investments to renewable energy in Greece, an area that was also well elaborated in the Greek-German Economic Forum.
What was generally agreed is essentially the adoption and implementation of a more active EU policy on NSRFs, lending tools and the support to European SMEs which aim to expand industrially to larger markets in combination with the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Hellenic Entrepreneurs Association’s objectives and views come as a result of the harsh reality brought about in the years of crisis in Greece, which forced Greek companies to embark on strides of extroversion and exploitation of new technologies. ΕΕΝΕ believes that the change in the commercial and political ideologies improved the Greek entrepreneurship, by turning standard production lines to meet and satisfy the international market needs.
EENE Association through the activities of EENE International plans similar business trips to France and the US in the coming year, arranging meetings with organizations and parliament representatives in the scope of deepening further its business relationship with the two countries and presenting its positions which concern not only the region of Greece but the European market integration as well.
